Stob Corie Raineach is the lower of two Munro summits on the Buachaille Etive Beag. It's a fine peak that stands proud above the A82 into Glen Coe. The fastest ascent route starts from the car park at the head of Lairig Eilde, while it can also be ascended from Altnafeadh.

Description Buachaille Etive Beag is one of the Glen Coe classics and its two peaks Stob Dubh and Stob Coire Raineach are climbed together as they are linked by a high ridge. Buachaille Etive Beag is elongated SW to NE with Stob Dubh at the SW end, furthest from the access road.

Buachaille Etive Beag is the smaller of the two Sheperds of Etive, appearing quite rugged from Glencoe. Stob Coire Raineach is the most northerly of two Munros on this mountain. Prior to 1997, Buachaille Etive Beag had only one Munro summit, Stob Dubh, and the main route headed up from Glen Etive, climbing direct and steeply from Dalness.

Stob Dubh is the taller of the two of the two munros and offers great views of Loch Etive and the nearby peaks of Glencoe. The mountains of Glen Coe are steep and rocky. The trails can get slippery and muddy when wet and suitable footwear is advised. In winter, this route becomes a very different proposition.
